How we work

The standards are the product

The receipt gate

No claim publishes until its primary document has been retrieved and read. Quotations are checked character for character. Disproving our own draft counts as the gate working.

The document is shown

Where a claim rests on a record, the record is published with it. A reader should never have to trust a summary.

Corrections stay put

When something is wrong we correct it where it was published, not quietly somewhere else. The old version keeps its place and carries the correction.

Generated images are never passed off as artifacts

Original art is labelled as original art. An archival document is labelled as an archival document. The two are never captioned as each other.

Status is not a claim

A property is described as live only when you can open it. In production means in production. There is no third meaning.
